With voltshare’s app and site owner portal, you can monitor your chargers, set prices, check income, and view charging sessions remotely.
Using voltshare’s tiered pricing feature in the app, you can offer free or discounted charging to staff or loyal customers.
We have often found that offering free charging may seem like a good idea but few of our venue owners who have done this have seen significant rise in electricity costs and decided to offer paid charging instead.
Yes! Our app allows you to set a site access code that you can provide to guests. Only those with the code can activate the charger, ensuring that it's reserved for paying guests.
This depends on your venue type, venue location, the existing customer base you serve among other things. Our clients have seen payback times of as short as 6 months; currently industry leading!
It is completely up to you. Most of the businesses we work with choose to remain private and keep the chargers purely for guest use.
Our app allows you to toggle Off/On for appearing on the voltshare map. This does not update your map visibility on Zap Map or other open source maps.
Drivers can easily begin charging in two ways: either scan the QR code on the charger and follow the simple on-screen instructions, or download the voltshare app and follow the prompts.

Your charger is covered by a 3-year warranty period from manufacturing defects.
The charger can be fitted wherever there is a parking space. They can be fitted on the wall or on a pedestal, depending on your space requirements.
In one sentence: charging via your wall socket is a serious fire hazard and has shown to blow fuses and cause fires.
A dedicated wall or post mounted EV Charger ensures that you give your guest a much faster and safer charging experience due to the in-built protection mechanisms. Drivers will always prioritise faster and safer charging with a dedicated EV charger, even if they have to pay for it.
For comparison:
Charging with a wall-socket: time to charge can be more than 16 hours
Charging with a dedicated EV charger: time to charge is between 2.5 to 4 hours; up to 8 times faster.
You will also need to add it into your property’s Terms & Conditions that wall-socket charging of EV’s is strictly prohibited. This can be easily identified with a much higher energy consumption in your energy meter or a blown wall-socket fuse which is a serious fire hazard.
For overnight guests we would suggest that you do not require a charger that is faster than 7kW. This is from a cost-benefit point of view.
For a high traffic location that would be suitable for guests who would have a dwell time of less than 4 hours, we suggest a 22kW unit. But you will require a three phase supply and installation costs will be higher as thicker cables and costlier supplies will be needed (e.g. three phase RCBO’s/MCB’s).
After purchase, you as the purchaser have full ownership rights over the charger. As the hardware provider, we offer a 3-year warranty and a back-office platform to manage your chargers completely at no ongoing cost to you. You retain the lion’s share of the revenue while we take a small fee per transaction. With others, you may find that you have to pay ongoing fees as well as transaction fees.
Our chargers have CE, UKCA, and OZEV certifications. They are also listed on the ENA database.
Our DC chargers are also listed on the ENA database with full harmonics data.
With a 7kW charger, you can expect your users to fully charge their car between 3-5 hours depending on their car. This is what we call "destination charging", where drivers park and charge their car for a few hours while they go for a meal, play a game of golf, or overnight while they stay at your accommodation business.
Short answer: Yes!
Long answer: If you have an untethered unit (socketed), users can bring their own charging cable regardless of type. If you have a tethered unit, there is a very small portion of cars (handful) that have a different socket type (Type 1) to the industry standard in the U.K. (Type 2) so your unit will be compatible with the vast majority of EVs.
Yes! Our app's tiered pricing option allows you to offer discounted charging rates to specific users, like staff or loyal customers.
