1.  Identity Data including your first name, last name, and your username or a similar identifier when you register your details at VoltShare Ltd online (or update that information in your account)

9.  Profile Data including your username and encrypted password, charging session information, your preferences, feedback, survey responses and messages sent and received to us and other Users.

10.  Location Data including your address and postcode which is used to generate your location via the third-party mapping services we use, such as Google and Apple

11.  Technical Data: technical information about your device or browser when you use our website, including geolocation data to determine what country you are accessing our website from, your internet protocol (IP) address, device ID, browser type and version and time zone setting, which may in some circumstances be personal data. This may include the type of mobile Device you use, a unique Device identifier, your mobile operating system, time zone setting, as well as the make and model of your EV and its battery type.

12.  We may also receive personal data directly from you or from various third parties and public sources, such as social media channels (if you interact with us through those channels), or other third parties used to verify age/identity.

13.  Financial Data: We do not collect financial data, which is encrypted and sent directly to our third-party payment processor, Stripe. Their privacy policy is accessible here.

14.  We do not collect any Special Categories of Personal Data about you (this includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health, and genetic and biometric data). Nor do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

If you fail to provide personal data

Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with goods or services). In this case, we may have to cancel a product or service you have with us but we will notify you if this is the case at the time.

We will collect and process the following data about you:

Information you give us. This is information you consent to giving us about you when you use our App or Website (together Our Sites). It includes information you provide when you download and register to use the App, subscribe to any of our Services, make an in-App purchase, share data via our App's chat or other functions, enter a promotion or survey, provide feedback to us, subscribe to marketing and when you report a problem with our App, our Services, or any of Our Sites. If you contact us, we will keep a record of that correspondence.

Location Data. When you register to use our App as a Host, we will collect your registered address to determine and display to other Users your location for the purposes of connecting you with Chargees. You can toggle on or off the display of your location data to other Users at any time by changing the settings in your App. If you are a Chargee, your location data (your address) will be collected to provide mapping Services but will not be displayed to Hosts or to any other Users.

Information we receive from other sources including third parties and publicly available sources. We will receive personal data about you from various third parties as set out below:

Device Data from the following parties:

  • analytics providers, such as Apple, based outside the UK;
  • advertising networks;
  • search information providers, such as Google, based outside the UK

Contact and Transaction Data from providers of technical, payment and delivery services based outside the UK;

Identity and Contact Data from publicly available sources such as the electoral register and other social media sites such as Facebook.

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Generally, we do not rely on consent as a legal basis for processing your personal data although we will get your consent before sending third party direct marketing communications to you via email or text message. How long will you use my personal data for?

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. We may retain your personal data for a longer period in the event of a complaint or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation in respect to our relationship with you.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorised use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or other requirements.

What we may need from you

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to access your personal data (or to exercise any of your other rights). This is a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it. We may also contact you to ask you for further information in relation to your request to speed up our response.

Time limit to respond

Account Deletion

You may request an account deletion on the App or by submitting an enquiry on our website. Once VoltShare has received a request, the account and associated User data will be deleted within 90 days. Previous transactions that you have made through the App will still be available but anonymised.

After an account has been deleted on the App, its data cannot be restored. The following data associated with the User via our App will be deleted:

  • Email address
  • Financial information
  • Mobile number
  • Stripe (our third party payment provider) data including any saved payment cards under Stripe

The following data will be anonymised:

  • Transactions made through our App or services

Upon successful deletion of account, we will send a confirmation to the registered email. After which you will not be able to access the App using the same account.

11. Your legal rights

You have the right to:

Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a "data subject access request"). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.

Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected, though we may need to verify the accuracy of the new data you provide to us.

Request erasure of your personal data. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it. You also have the right to ask us to delete or remove your personal data where you have successfully exercised your right to object to processing (see below), where we may have processed your information unlawfully or where we are required to erase your personal data to comply with local law. Note, however, that we may not always be able to comply with your request of erasure for specific legal reasons which will be notified to you, if applicable, at the time of your request.
