Venue of the Month: BGAM takes the top spot for June

BGAM has been named voltshare’s June Venue of the Month after its hotel portfolio generated the highest EV charging revenue across our network in May.

Our June Venue of the Month award goes to BGAM, whose portfolio generated the highest charging revenue across the voltshare network during May.

BGAM operates a portfolio of hotels across the UK, with EV charging available at a number of its properties. Some of its top-performing sites this month included Mercure Barnsley, Holiday Inn Stonehenge and Holiday Inn Kenilworth.

The award recognises the strong performance of EV charging across the group and shows how chargers can provide a valuable service for hotel guests while creating an additional revenue stream for the business.

Meeting growing demand from EV-driving guests

BGAM originally introduced EV charging across its properties to meet the growing demand from guests travelling by electric vehicle.

For the group, it was also an opportunity to improve the overall guest experience, strengthen its sustainability credentials and make sure its hotels are prepared as EV ownership continues to grow.

Since installing the chargers, BGAM has seen benefits across its properties.

“They've enhanced our guest offering, attracted additional visitors, and helped future-proof our properties as EV ownership continues to grow.”

For hotel guests, being able to charge where they're already staying provides an added level of convenience. For the hotels themselves, it can help attract EV drivers looking specifically for accommodation with charging available.

Charging revenue that exceeded expectations

Across its portfolio, BGAM generated more charging revenue during May than any other customer on the voltshare network, earning the group our Highest Charging Revenue award.

Mercure Barnsley, Holiday Inn Stonehenge and Holiday Inn Kenilworth were among the group's strongest-performing locations during the month. While BGAM hoped its chargers would provide an additional source of income, their performance has exceeded initial expectations.

“We were hopeful they would provide an additional income stream, but they've performed better than we initially expected.”

The results show how EV charging can become more than an additional guest amenity. With chargers seeing regular use across multiple properties, charging can provide an ongoing revenue stream while improving the experience for guests travelling by EV.

A positive experience across the portfolio

BGAM has also highlighted the importance of reliable charging infrastructure and ongoing support across its properties.

“Our experience with voltshare has been very positive. The installation was straightforward, the support has been excellent, and the chargers have performed reliably.”

As EV ownership continues to grow, providing reliable charging gives hotel groups like BGAM another way to meet changing guest expectations while making better use of their car parks and creating additional revenue.

Congratulations to BGAM and its hotel teams on being our June Venue of the Month and taking the top spot for charging revenue!
