Venue of the Month May: Bluebird Car & Coach Car Park

Bluebird Car & Coach Car Park wins voltshare’s May Venue of the Month after receiving some of the most positive feedback from EV drivers across the network for its simple, user-friendly charging experience.

Bluebird Car & Coach Car Park in Coniston has been named voltshare’s Venue of the Month for May, receiving our ‘Highly Rated’ award in recognition of the consistently positive experience it offers EV drivers visiting the Lake District.

Located in the heart of Coniston, the site has quickly become a reliable charging destination for both visitors to the area and guests staying with The Coppermines Lakes Cottages. While many venues focus purely on installing chargers, Bluebird Car & Coach Car Park has stood out for something equally important, making charging simple, clear and stress-free for drivers.

From easy-to-follow instructions on site to a smooth overall charging experience, the venue has received some of the strongest feedback across the voltshare network from drivers using the chargers.

A focus on simplicity and ease of use

For the team behind the car park, making the charging process straightforward was a key priority from the beginning.

“Voltshare were recommended to us by PASC (Professional Association of Self Caterers, of which we are members) for their ease of use and efficient customer service.”

That focus on usability has clearly paid off, with drivers consistently leaving positive feedback through voltshare’s post-charge surveys. While the team say they haven’t received direct comments from drivers themselves, they see the lack of complaints as a good sign, particularly for a busy public charging location with a regular flow of visitors.

“Our experience with voltshare has been very positive.”

Supporting tourism and EV travel in the Lake District

The chargers are open for public use, helping support growing EV tourism in Coniston and the wider Lake District area. At the same time, the chargers also play an important role for guests booking through The Coppermines Lakes Cottages.

The team use access to charging and free parking at the public car park as an added incentive for guests travelling by electric vehicle, helping make EV travel more convenient for visitors staying in the area.

“As well as the chargers being for the use of the public visiting Coniston in the Lake District, we also use them as a booking incentive for our holiday cottage agency to encourage bookings from guests travelling in EVs in that they can park for free in the public car park and just pay for charging.”

Meeting demand as EV adoption grows

The original installation came as part of planning requirements, but the chargers have since become a valuable addition to the site and the wider visitor experience.

As more drivers make the switch to electric vehicles, destinations that provide reliable and easy-to-use charging are becoming increasingly important, particularly in tourism hotspots like the Lake District where visitors may be travelling longer distances.

By keeping the process simple and accessible, Bluebird Car & Coach Car Park has created a charging experience that works well for both occasional visitors and regular guests alike.

Congratulations again to Bluebird Car & Coach Car Park on being named voltshare’s Venue of the Month for May and winning our ‘Highly Rated’ award.
